Buffalo City East Lake Whiskey
Besides the Epic History of Buffalo City NC, this new distillery brings the old back to life with a sophisticated flair. Having the pleasure to work here for a year and also having a family connection to the past, of what was the booming moonshine town of Buffalo City, I have a fond respect for this product. Within the bottle is a blend of a 5 year Rye from southern star distilling and a 2 year bourbon of their own stock. A savory, spicy tribute to the whiskey from the past!
Tasting Note Cheat Sheet
Nose: The pleasurable sent of honeysuckle mixes with the herbal aromas of the rye. Slight marshmallow and vanilla extract are faint but findable within the baking spices and cooked oak tones.
Palate: Lightly viscus as it makes its way across the tongue and cheek. The rye pops and tingles leading into the soft caramel and brown sugar, leading to a slightly herbal tea and oak spice finish.
